Leadership
The firm’s CEO, JP Williamson, possesses over 25 years of combined real estate and finance experience. Williamson, who focuses on real estate and urban infill development, has been responsible for the development of over 2 million square feet of commercial space and 1,500 residential units, and execution of a variety of large scale historic tax credit rehabilitation.
Business Development Group
The Octagon Finance team processes each loan application by separating each request into underwriting groups emphasizing each team member’s strengths. Team members work across specialization groups in a collaborative atmosphere.
Our Business Development Group reviews loan requests, works with developers to determine finance solutions, and serves as the borrower’s primary point of contact throughout the loan process. They bring years of experience in business development with a specialty in historic and new market tax credits. Our professionals frequently participate in national tax credit conferences and have built extensive relationships with tax credit developers, investors, and syndicators.
Finance and Risk Management Group
The Finance and Risk Management Group reviews developer and project financials, qualified expenses, and monitors the loan disbursement and accounting for each transaction. They bring over 15 years of experience in tax accounting and auditing with large CPA firms with a focus on non-profits and real estate.
Construction and Project Management Group
The Construction and Project Management group reviews each project’s construction documents, budget, and associated financial records. They possess over 40 years of construction management, project oversight, and infill and historic tax credit rehabilitation experience.
Entitlements and Regulations Group
The Entitlements and Regulations Group reviews historic tax credit documents, local government process and approvals, and environmental information for each project. Their 20 years of experience in architecture, urban and environmental planning, and historic preservation provide a broad background for reviewing a variety of application components.
